I was browsing a recent Forbes Magazine article on 3-D printing. In
this article they discussed how Golan Levin, a Carnegie-Mellon professor
solved a problem of connecting a variety of different toys together.
He measured the pieces of various toys to within three microns
and with those measurements you can build connecting pieces with a 3-D
printer such as the MakerBot's Thing-o-Matic.
Very cool...
